Kāpiti College offers students a wide range of health services from traditional counselling to anger management to dental health checks. These operate from the Whare Awhina, which is situated behind the Library and staffed by Counsellors Paul Roberts, Deb Wakelin and Mahalia Hodges. While counselling services are obviously aimed at students, the counsellors are always happy to talk to parents, within the confines of confidentiality.
Kāpiti Living Without Violence provides anger management counselling on Wednesdays and WelTrust offers drug and alcohol counselling services. There is also a visiting physiotherapy service.
The College has a strong relationship with Kāpiti Youth Support (KYS) and a KYS nurse clinic is available for students every Monday morning. Finally, dental health is provided through check-ups and referrals at two stages during the year.
All services offered through the Whare Awhina are free.
