Kapiti College offers its International Students an aviation programme in conjunction with the Kāpiti Air Academy, based only 2 kilometres from the College.
Whether you want to be an airline pilot, agricultural pilot, flying instructor or just want to fly for the joy of being in the air, the Kāpiti Air Academy is the place for you. New Zealand Qualifications Authority accredited, the Kāpiti Air Academy trains pilots from all over the world to the highest of standards.

Before a student can fly they have to pass an English test so that the tutor knows they can follow instructions.
Students can begin flying with a tutor immediately. They can fly with a tutor at any age.
Students can fly solo at 16 years old after approximately 16-20 hours in the air with a tutor.
There are 6 exams to pass and a medical test to get their Private Pilot License. They can begin doing the exams at any time.
To gain their PPL students must fly in total 30 hours with a tutor and 15 hours solo.
