Director of International Education
The Director of International Education is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic management, and day-to-day operation of the school's international student programme. The core purpose of this role is to ensure a high-quality, safe, and supportive experience for all international students, from their initial enquiry through to their successful integration and achievement within the school community.
Paul has helmed the Kapiti College International Department since 2025. He brings more than 25 years of education experience, with a background in classroom teaching as well as over ten years as the Director of International Marketing. As a passionate educator and strategic leader, he champions the school’s core principles of Akonga Well-being and Belonging, ensuring a high-quality, safe, and supportive experience for all international students and full compliance with the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021. He strives to understand each student's aspirations, ensuring they are offered a range of curricular and extra-curricular opportunities that inspire their passions and enrich their time at Kapiti College
Assistant Director of International
The Assistant Director of International oversees the academic and pastoral support of international students, ensuring their academic needs are met as well as enhancing their overall experience as an international student. The Director of International Academics works to develop appropriate academic pathways for each student, whether that is achieving university entrance or English language fluency, and advocates for their needs across the college.
Fiona brings decades of classroom experience and exceptional skills in ESOL pedagogy. She is dedicated to ensuring the success and holistic well-being of every international student. She develops personalised academic pathways and guides students to achieve their potential, connecting students with the appropriate resources and support structures, both in school and in the community. As the ESOL teacher, Fiona helps students develop their language skills and confidence, enabling them to grow beyond what they thought was possible during their time at Kapiti College.
Margot Knox

International Administrator
The International Administrator keeps all the cogs turning in the Department. With a broad scope of responsibilities, this role oversees all administrative functions including inquiries and enrolments, invoicing, managing homestay payments as well as database and physcial records management.
Margot brings 15 years of dedicated service to the school. She is the primary “front-of-house” contact for international students, managing day-to-day student enquiries and acting as the key liaison for education agents seeking to enrol students. Margot oversees the financial administration of international enrolments, including enrolment processing and homestay payments, and provides comprehensive administrative support to the International Department. Her previous administration experience includes roles with Transpower and Victoria University.

Homestay Coordinator
The primary purpose of the Homestay Co-ordinator role is to oversee the Kapiti College homestay programme, ensuring safe, secure, and high-quality accommodation and pastoral care for our international students.
Raen joined Kapiti College in 2025 and brings professional experience across communications, teaching, and youth work. As Homestay Coordinator, Raen’s primary mission is to ensure every international student experiences a supportive home environment. This involves complex student-host matching balancing needs and availability, managing high-volume logistics for arrivals and departures, making critical decisions regarding student welfare and travel permissions, as well as managing essential processes and communications to keep host families informed. Raen is deeply committed to upholding the College’s duty of care and full compliance with the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021, providing responsive and dedicated support to students, host families, and agents.
Juliet Watterson
Teacher Aide

International Teacher Aide
Kapiti College International has a dedicated Teacher Aide to provide one-on-one support for international students in the classroom. The Teacher Aide develops strong working relationships with students, advocates for their needs and supports their pastoral care.
Juliet joined the International team in 2026 and is excited to work alongside students to help them reach their full potential. Previously, Juliet worked with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority, coordinating national examinations at Kapiti College. Through this role, she developed a strong passion for supporting students to succeed academically. She is delighted to continue this work by supporting international students in collaboration with their teachers, helping them navigate their studies and achieve their goals.
