Workday Information

In 2021 we raised $28,945.00 some of the money was spent on the following:

• New bike racks

• Audiobook platform

• House flags

• Drink bottle refill stations

Promised and still to be spent:

• Bus shelter

• Pouwhenua

Workday is our one and only whole school fundraising event this year it is been held on Thursday 9th March. It has been a tradition at the college for 30 plus years. Due to covid there was no workday in 2022. The student leadership team will decide on how the money is spent in consultation with students.

Students participate in one of four ways:

1 Get a job and earn $30 (Y9-10) or $35 (Y11-13) and donate their pay to the school.

2 Donate $30-35 (depending on the year level) from the pay received from a regular job and have workday off.

3 Come to school and work on jobs around the school (supervised by staff). This is mostly outside work and does not include cleaning toilets!

4 Come to school and do school work (supervised by staff).

Most juniors take option 1, a significant number of seniors take option 2. There is a prize of a half day activity paid for by the school for the junior and senior form class that raises the most money.
