Kapiti College, located on the beautiful Kapiti Coast, seeks an inspirational Director of Sport and Active Recreation to lead our comprehensive extracurricular programme. Our student-centred culture is driven by four core priorities: Excellence & Achievement, Ākonga well-being & belonging, Whānau and community partnerships, and Cultural growth (embedding Mātauranga Māori). The Director must align their vision with these values.
This leadership role requires developing a strategic plan to enhance participation, performance, and enjoyment for all students, driving a high-profile, inclusive sports culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Directing and managing the entire programme, ensuring safety and policy compliance.
Securing sponsorships and funding to grow resources.
Building strong relationships with coaches, College Sport Wellington, and the community.
Providing sound financial management and efficient administration of equipment.
The successful applicant will:
Have a proven track record in sports leadership and management.
Possess outstanding people and communication skills with high integrity.
Be passionate about promoting fair play and growing sports participation.
Demonstrate strong organisational skills and the ability to manage complex timelines.
Show cultural competence, including an understanding of nga tikanga Māori.
This is a 52-week position. Remuneration is Salary Grade Grade 5, with terms of employment to be negotiated.
